Cordyceps is originally from Tibet, where it grows at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 meters on the larva of a butterfly. In the meantime, it has been possible to cultivate this rare and expensive fungus.
The areas of application of Cordyceps in veterinary medicine are very extensive. From the point of view of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it supports the kidney, which according to this medical doctrine stores all life energy and is considered the root of life. In renal dysfunction, cordyceps improves both renal function and creatinine clearance. Due to its beneficial effect on the respiratory organs, the heart and general endurance can promote athletic performance. After athletic exertion, this fungus promotes the regenerative capacity of muscle tissue.
Another area of use for cordyceps is hormonal disorders. Due to its regulating effect on the release of hormones of the adrenal cortex, it counteracts symptoms of stress and has therefore proven to be good for anxious and stressed animals.
