Maitake grows on chestnuts or other deciduous trees. It is an edible mushroom. Next to Agaricus blazei murrill (ABM), it has the highest concentration of polysaccharides and is therefore used for cancer, as is ABM.
Maitake inhibits tumor growth and the formation of metastases. Like ABM, it induces tumor cells to die (apoptosis) and strengthens cellular defenses. Its use has been proven in bone tumors, bone metastases and brain tumors. It stimulates osteoblasts, improves calcium storage and thus strengthens bones.
Clinical studies showed tumor regressions and improvements in symptoms in liver cancer and liver metastases.
In diabetes type II, metabolic syndrome and equine metabolic syndrome, this medicinal mushroom regulates insulin receptors. This allows the cells to better absorb and process the sugar again.
Its intake improves fat burning and helps to eliminate the disorders of fat metabolism in the liver and break down the fat.
