Headache

Almost everyone has a headache now and then; quite a few people even suffer from them regularly. The most common forms include tension headache and migraine. Both can really cause downright excruciating pain, but the severity varies from person to person.

Tension and other headaches, migraines

The dull-pressing tension headache can either diffusely affect the whole head or only the area of the forehead, temples and crown.

Classic symptoms in migraine are pulsating hemiplegic pain, often accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light. Visual disturbances, for example in the form of flashes of light, and numbness may also occur. They are called aura symptoms.

In any case, sufferers should be aware that headaches and migraines are alarm signals. They are an indication that something beyond pain is wrong in our body. And we should definitely follow up on that.

Individual causes

The triggers are manifold and very individual. Tension in the neck and head area, stress, change in weather, lack of sleep or hormonal fluctuations are typical. In migraine, circulatory disorders and inflammatory processes or changes in certain neurotransmitters in the brain can also be causative.

Basic mushrooms: Reishi and Shiitake

In the case of both tension headaches and migraines, the vital mushrooms Reishi and Shiitake have proven their worth, among other things, due to their pain-relieving as well as their anti-inflammatory effect.

Furthermore, they have an antithrombotic effect, which improves blood circulation. Reishi in particular also helps stabilize the autonomic nervous system. This allows spasmodically constricted blood vessels and muscles to relax under its administration. Also noteworthy is the stress-relieving, antioxidant and detoxifying effects of these two vital mushrooms.
