Algae oil: for healthy development of heart, brain and eyes

Unbalanced diet with too much omega 6 and simultaneous omega 3 deficiency is the source of many ailments, the cause of which is often overlooked.

Omega-3 deficiency manifests itself in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, allergies, asthma, susceptibility to infections, LongCovid, depression, dry skin or eyes, muscle weakness, senility, concentration problems, ADHD, neuropathies, periodontitis, among others. It is also associated with sudden cardiac death and other cardiovascular disorders. Omega-3 fatty acids are particularly important for the health of children and adolescents. The basis for this is already laid before birth. Thus, when omega-3 fatty acids are administered during pregnancy, significantly fewer food allergies or neurodermatitis occur in young children, a protective effect against asthma has been observed, as well as support for brain development and cognition.

How much omega 3 does a person need?

Omega-3 competes with omega-6 for the same enzymes. Therefore, the German Nutrition Society recommends a ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 of 5:1. If the omega 3 level is too low in relation to the other, more of the pro-inflammatory arachidonic acid is produced and less of the EPA and DHA, which are valuable for nerves and blood vessels. Due to a high proportion of animal products such as butter, meat, eggs and milk, but also wheat, rye, corn, oats and the abundant sunflower oil contained in fast food, the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids in reality, however, is > 7:1. A compensation of this difference is achieved particularly effectively by a regular intake of omega-3 products.

Algae oil vs. fish oil

The most effective omega-3 suppliers are fish oil and algae oil. Compared to many fish oils, algae oil is of higher quality, uncontaminated and more digestible. It’s more environmentally friendly, preserves fish stocks and is a great option for vegans. In addition, it is more effective than fish oil in the same amount. By the way … in studies, about 20% of the fish oils offered turned out to be rancid, which is discussed as less effective, unhealthy or even toxic. The typical rancid odor is often masked by added flavorings.
